Lumecca – IPL Treatment

Lumecca is designed for individuals looking to enhance their skin's appearance by tackling issues such as sun damage, age spots, freckles, rosacea, and various forms of hyperpigmentation. It is best suited for those with lighter skin tones, as individuals with darker pigmentation may be more prone to adverse reactions, including hyperpigmentation or burns. Preparation for Lumecca IPL begins at least two weeks before your first treatment. At that time, you'll be asked to stop using sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure. When you arrive for your treatment, the targeted areas will be thoroughly cleaned to remove any makeup, oils or impurities, and you will receive protective eyewear.

During the procedure, our providers will gently move the Lumecca handpiece across your skin, delivering intense pulsed light to the targeted areas. The duration of the procedure can vary depending on the size of the treatment area but typically lasts between 20 and 45 minutes. For best results, we recommend getting two to five treatments, spaced out every three to four weeks.

Recovery after a Lumecca treatment is generally minimal, with most patients experiencing only mild redness in the treated areas. These effects usually subside within a few hours to a couple of days. To promote healing and protect the skin, it is essential to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and harsh skincare products for one to two weeks after the treatment. Additionally, patients should keep the skin moisturized. After the treatment, any pigmented lesions may initially darken over the course of one week before they begin to fade.

Lumecca treatments can quickly and effectively reduce or eliminate age spots, vascular lesions, rosacea, freckles, and sun damage. Hyperpigmented areas typically fade within one to two weeks. Most individuals notice brighter and more even skin after just one session, although depending on your skin, anywhere from two to five treatments are recommended for optimal results.
